A reward's annualized ceiling is separate from the token's price premium and from changes in gold's value.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is XAUT trading at a premium or a discount to gold this week?

In the week of Oct 26 – Nov 1, 2026 so far, XAUT's typical weekday premium is -0.18%, below spot gold, and PAXG's +0.02%. The figure updates daily.

Why are weekend numbers reported separately?

Spot gold stops trading from Friday evening to Sunday evening (US time), but XAUT and PAXG trade around the clock. A weekend reading compares the token with Friday's closing gold price, so it shows where token holders think gold will open, not a premium. Mixing those days in would make most weeks look like a discount.

How is the premium measured?

Token price from CoinGecko divided by spot gold per troy ounce from gold-api.com, minus one, read in the same run several times a day. Each day keeps its median, lowest and highest reading in UTC; each week takes the median of its weekday medians. Weeks run Monday to Sunday, UTC.

Does a discount mean XAUT or PAXG is cheap?

Only in the sense that you pay slightly less than the gold is worth at that moment. Most weeks the typical gap is within a few tenths of a percent, about the size of an exchange spread. A wider discount, like the roughly 1% on 25 September 2026, usually comes with stressed markets and tends to close within days.
